Ingrédients
4 wholemeal burger buns (or low-calorie)
400 g lean minced meat (5% fat)
4 slices low-fat cheddar cheese
4 sheets lettuce
4 washers tomato
4 slices gherkins
- For the light sauce :
2 tbsp. 0% cottage cheese
1 tsp. sweet mustard
1 tsp. ketchup
1 tsp. cider vinegar
1 pinch garlic powder
Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the light sauce:
In a bowl, mix cottage cheese, mustard, ketchup, cider vinegar and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside in a cool place. - Shape and cook the steaks:
Divide the minced meat into 4 equal parts and shape into thin steaks, slightly wider than the buns.
Cook them in a non-stick frying pan or on the grill for a few minutes. 2 to 3 minutes on each side, depending on desired doneness. - Prepare the breads:
Heat the burger buns in the oven or toaster for a few minutes until lightly crisp. - Assemble the Big Macs:
- Spread a thin layer of sauce over the bread base.
Arrange a leaf of lettuce, a slice of tomato and a slice of gherkin.
Add a hot steak and a slice of low-fat cheese.
Close with the cap of the bread spread with sauce. - Serve immediately:
Serve with a green salad or baked sweet potato fries for a balanced meal.
Notes
- For even more lightness, replace the meat with a veggie or turkey steak.
- Add finely sliced red onions for a crunchy, sweet touch.
- If you’re a fan of spicy, spice up the sauce with a few drops of Tabasco or a pinch of chili powder.
